HVAC Design Engineer

Bahnson Mechanical Systems is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer that will coordinate aspects of mechanical engineering, design, along with drafting.
In addition, this person will assist in building mechanical systems in design-build projects and design-assist opportunities.

Key Duties:
90-95% of daily work is drafting, designing, and interacting with estimators and fellow engineers while analyzing customer's needs, planning project implementation, and calculating system requirements.
Coordinate with project teams to monitor budgets of engineering and modeling resources to improve, and if needed, incorporate lessons learned in future estimates.
Work with the Project team and BIM detailer to create general arrangement, duct, and piping drawings.
Define required components sufficiently for estimator to obtain bids from vendors.
Work with the sales teams to understand needs for 3D modelers and VDC resources to ensure plans are executed according to estimates.
Verify that bids on equipment meet project requirements.
Work with vendors to have parts and components fabricated.
Optimize fabrication within the design phase.
Coordinate with startup technicians/commissioning agent to verify that system performs as designed.
Create designs that maintain product and system safety.
Conduct investigative energy assessments to identify energy and cost savings measures.
Job may require site visits and travel along with occasional work on weekends and after hours.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science with a mechanical engineering or construction management focus.
5
years of engineering experience in the HVAC/mechanical industry.
Experience designing multiple large projects (from $1M-$10M).
Proficiency (5
years) with Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam.
Familiarity with psychometrics and heat load calculations.
Familiarity with sizing duct work and various mechanical piping systems.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and other mechanical, technical, or construction programs.
In depth knowledge of the construction industry standard codes and commercial permit procedures.
Comfortable with building positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers.
Possess self-motivation and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Possess excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to self-schedule and estimate workloads/deadlines.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
